The WDBF has renewed its partnership with the International Workers & Amateurs Sports Confederation (CSIT) and will be bringing dodgeball to the CSIT World Sport Games this September in Emilia Romagna, Italy.

The World Sport Games are a major multi-sports event held every two years, full of sports, cultural exchange, fun and new opportunities. These Games are not multisport games for top athletes, but for all amateurs from different countries and cultures all over the world. Not only is the organisation of competitions in the foreground, but also organizing a huge festival with the spirit of the beautiful region Emilia-Romagna at the famous Adriatic Sea coast. Cervia, in the Italian region of Emilia Romania with its partner cities Cesena, Cesenatico and Riccione will be the organizer of the WSG from September 5th to the 10th.

The WDBF program will include a European foam championship, open to all EDF members, and a cloth invitational that will serve as a primer to the European Championships taking place in Croatia in October.

WDBF President, Duane Wysynski, is looking forward to Cervia. “We are very excited to be bringing dodgeball to yet another multi-sports event, and especially one with the breadth and history of the CSIT World Sport Games.” This edition of the Games had to be postponed from 2021 due to the global pandemic, but Wysynski believes this pause will only add to the event. “The guiding principle of CSIT is the Spirt of Unity, and while the pandemic has created so many issues for sport around the world, it has also brought many of us together as we worked towards solutions, both temporary and long-term, in advancing amateur sport.”

CSIT is an international multi-sports organization, founded 1913 in Ghent/Belgium and based on the historic ideas of the international labor movement. Within the last decades, CSIT has reoriented to become a broad-based Sport for All confederation. By organizing major sports events worldwide, establishing international networking platforms, engagement in EU projects and developing educational programs CSIT is led by one guiding principle: Spirit of Sports – Spirit of Unity.
